ABOUT THE SPECTRUM
PHOTO: PATRICIA GONZALES
the broad spectrum of things...
The Spectrum aims to unveil the personal stories of the LGBTQAI+ community in order to create a safe space for the love of self, the acceptance of others, and to inform it’s audience about the complexities of gender and sexual identity. The Spectrum challenges societal norms and provokes new ideals through means of visual art. The Spectrum is you, it’s me, and it’s everyone in between.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Thank you for visiting, I appreciate you.
My name is Andrea and I take pictures of people. I believe that when people share their stories, we can bring unity and open-mindedness to our community. I believe that humans can fit into many different boxes, so I created The Spectrum to share this vision.
I live in Phoenix, Arizona and spend most of my time making digital art. I'm a graphic designer by day, and a photographer by, well, any free time I have. I aim for a simplistic approach and center my focus on who my subject is. The photos you see were probably taken in my living room, someone's bedroom, or maybe a backyard. I never tell people what to wear, how to do their makeup, or how to pose. The photos you see are 100% about that person and their journey.
